On this episode of The Press Office with Kate & Co. PR, our host Marisa Jayne chats with her first ever employer, and founder of Lenzo and Everbloome, Elleni Pearce.
With a love of all things aesthetically pleasing, Elleni designed her own party as a 4 year old, and had a flair for events long before she worked in the industry. Fast forward to adulthood and she studied Marketing and Commerce followed by landing a role in advertising at ACP Magazines for 12 years.
During her time at ACP, Elleni’s 30th birthday rolled around for which she collected lots of little jars to style with eclectic florals. After the party she thought to herself, “what the hell am I going to do with these 200 jars.” At the time there wasn’t any marketplace that was event related and that was where her idea for Lenzo was born.
Starting as an online events marketplace, Lenzo has now developed into one of the most recognisable event agencies in Australia, styling events and offering event marketing solutions. Elleni explains to Marisa, “we create ideation for brands who want to do something amazing” and “we are the event agency with influence” and she is not wrong! Lenzo events are those that people want to see and be seen at.
Elleni’s second business, Everbloome, came to life after she had opened a retail store for Lenzo and stocked up on preserved flowers. When the store had to close due to Covid in March 2020, she looked to Mother’s Day as a deadline and worked on launching a business that could deliver everlasting florals to loved ones in lockdown.
Elleni talks to Marisa about where she gets her inspiration and says, “the best inspiration is the unrelated inspiration, rather than looking at other events.” She is constantly looking at style trends and keeping her eyes and ears open, she explains how important it is to put yourself in the shoes of a guest and think about how you would feel if you saw or experienced something in particular.
Elleni talks to Marisa about the newest event trends including ‘Maximalism’ or the chaotic mix of patterns and colours, and the nostalgia of mixing and matching. The use of lighting and AV is also very on trend, as is the use of mirrors, which Elleni recently experienced on a trip to Tokyo.
Elleni shares her advice on creating the perfect event, including the overall experience, the first impressions, the surprises, the personalisation and the entertainment.
So what’s next for the Lenzo team? A number of brand launches, a movie launch and a lot of graphics and branding work for client campaigns, government contracts and bringing to life cities that have struggled to thrive post Covid.
